Introducing Birth Essentials: Compact Classes for Modern Parents — a light, focused series designed to give you a solid overview of childbirth and early parenting. These interactive 2-hour sessions are perfect for busy parents who want to understand the key aspects of physiological birth, breastfeeding, labor positions, postpartum care, and newborn parenting, without the commitment of a fully comprehensive childbirth class.
While these classes aren’t designed to go in-depth with every situation, they provide a strong foundation to help you learn about the choices and options available to you. Taught by experienced doulas, birth educators, and lactation counselors in a relaxed, comfortable setting, you can join individual classes for $30 each or sign up for the entire series for $150. This series offers the flexibility and support you need to feel confident and informed as you prepare for your baby’s arrival!
Each class will run from 7-9 PM on Tuesday evenings from October 1st-November 5th, hosted at The Enrichment Garden Therapy Center, 1138 N 3rd St, Bismarck, ND.

Join us for Anatomy & Physiology of Birth, a class designed to empower pregnant families with a clear understanding of how the body works during labor and birth. In this informative session, we’ll explore the natural processes that guide your body through each stage of labor, from early contractions to delivery.
Led by Certified Birth Doula and Certified Birth Educator Willow Huisman, this class will give you insight into the incredible coordination between muscles, hormones, and the baby’s movements. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for your body’s ability to birth, helping you feel more confident and connected as you prepare for the big day.

Join us for Labor Positions & Comfort Measures, a hands-on class designed to help pregnant families feel more confident and prepared for labor. In this supportive, interactive session, we’ll explore a variety of positions and techniques to help you stay comfortable, manage pain, and work with your body’s natural rhythm during labor.
Led by Certified Birth Doula and Lamaze Instructor Kathy Paul, you’ll learn practical tools such as breathing techniques, relaxation methods, and how movement can help ease discomfort and encourage progress in labor. We’ll also cover how partners and support people can actively participate, offering comfort and encouragement during every stage.

Led by Certified Birth Doula and Certified Hypnobirthing® Instructor Ali Hein, this class will help you understand the importance of flexibility while empowering you to communicate your wishes clearly to your birth team. You’ll leave with a well-rounded, personalized birth plan that reflects your hopes and priorities while keeping you open to the unpredictability of birth.

Join us for Navigating the Immediate Postpartum, a class designed to prepare pregnant families for the important first hours and days after birth. In this warm, supportive session, we’ll cover what to expect as your body begins to heal, how to support your emotional well-being, and ways to foster a strong bond with your newborn during this transformative time.
Led by Certified Postpartum Doula and New Parent Educator Taylor Marshall-Wanner, we’ll discuss practical topics such as postpartum recovery, newborn feeding, skin-to-skin contact, and establishing a routine. You’ll also learn about the emotional shifts that can occur, helping you recognize the signs of postpartum mood changes and where to seek support if needed.
