What is the Bismarck Doula Community?

It all started when…

The Bismarck Doula Community was formed when a local group of women attended a doula training and saw an opportunity to create a bigger impact in the Bismarck-Mandan area by working together. We own our individual businesses, and work together cooperatively to provide more support and education for our community through events like the Bismarck Baby Expo and monthly events.

Our Mission

The mission of the Bismarck Doula Community is to support families through pregnancy, childbirth, and the first year postpartum through creating public dialog and discussion about the use of doulas and doula support, and collaborating with other associated professionals to create a more positive birth culture in the Bismarck Mandan area.

Our Purpose

The Purpose of the Bismarck Doula Community is to foster a collaborative ongoing dialog that results in the following:

  1. The promotion of public awareness through education about the options for pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the immediate postpartum period.

  2. Access and availability for expecting families to utilize doula support.

  3. Networking with other birth-related professionals to create a better birthing environment.

  4. Encourage continuing education opportunities and mutually support its members

  5. Facilitate opportunities to train new doulas to serve in our community.
